The Celebrating Kulitas:
The name of our community is derived from 'kurita'. Variant spellings include "Kulta" and "Kuilta". In some parts of Orissa we are also called "Chasa". We belong to a great socio-economic group. It is believed that we migrated and settled in different parts of west Orissa and worship the goddess Ramachandi whose principal shrine is situated at Sarsara. Sarsara and Jagati in Boudh are considered to be our main centers.
